Owen Ndung'u Wanjiku has called for a renewed commitment to accountability and integrity in public leadership, arguing that effective governance begins with leaders who remain answerable to the people they serve.
The parliamentary aspirant has criticised the current administration over what he describes as widespread corruption, economic mismanagement, and the failure to adequately address the challenges facing ordinary Kenyans.
He argues that public resources should be used to improve essential services and stimulate economic growth rather than serve political interests.
Owen has also questioned the effectiveness of oversight institutions, saying Parliament has a constitutional responsibility to hold the Executive accountable whenever government actions fail to meet the expectations of citizens.
In his view, strong democratic institutions are essential for protecting public interest and ensuring transparency in government.
On healthcare, he has raised concerns about the transition from the National Hospital Insurance Fund to the Social Health Authority, arguing that reforms should improve access to affordable healthcare and deliver better outcomes for patients.
He believes every policy change should be evaluated based on its impact on the lives of ordinary Kenyans.
Owen has further argued that appointments to critical government ministries and institutions should be guided by competence, experience, and consultation with relevant stakeholders.
According to him, effective leadership requires individuals with the expertise necessary to deliver quality public services.
As he seeks to represent Kikuyu Constituency in Parliament, Owen says he will continue advocating for transparent governance, prudent management of public resources, stronger oversight, and leadership that remains focused on serving wananchi with integrity and accountability.
